‘We don’t want them to know they are being watched’: Crystal Shop owner says her shop is being watched by the feds

WASHINGTON — A Crystal Shop in suburban Washington has been the subject of intense surveillance by federal authorities since December.

The store in Georgetown, Maryland, was a focus of a grand jury investigation that began in February into whether customers were paying for illegal purchases.

It has since been raided by agents and closed by police.

The investigation is a “continuing investigation,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said in a statement Thursday.

The shop was searched by the FBI on Feb. 13 and Feb. 14, and on Feb 16 and 17, it was closed and its security cameras were turned off.
