By Dan Shea and Eric Engels, NHL.com StaffThe Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club has signed goaltender Brett Smith to a three-year entry-level contract.
Smith, who is the second-youngest player on the team, made his NHL debut Oct. 1 against the Anaheim Ducks.
He went 0-2-1 with a 2.33 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in eight games for the Maple Leafs.
Smith was a first-round pick (No. 64) in the 2014 NHL Draft.
